Does the Bible say we must have a certain number of children, especially concerning having MANY children?

Q. Does the Bible say we must have a certain number of children, especially concerning having MANY children?

A. The Bible does not give numbers as to how many children we should have. If He had a magic number, all "quiverfull people" would each have "x" number of children, since we trust God solely for how many He sends us (note: most of us do not try to have as many children as we can...we just accept and receive as many as God sends us). However, everything in Scripture (check out Nancy Campbell's book, Be Fruitful and Multiply) does indicate very vocally (if one will truly study and look at the original Greek/Hebrew text) that God opens and closes the womb; sends children to increase territory; gives children as blessings, etc. Nancy's book really provides lots of Scripture that really opens eyes, if you really want to know God's truth on family planning...not solely a human opinion, but God's truth through Scripture.
