Eva Caroline - RSV and Pneumonia at 2 Weeks Old

At just 2 weeks old our little Eva Caroline caught the "bug" that has been being passed around the Metzger household since the day she was born. After a trip to urgent care, a trip to one ER, a doctors office sick visit and a hospital admission, we ended up with Eva staying in the hospital for the last 5 days. Mommy stayed with her 24/7. While we were there Eva was diagnosed with RSV, which turned into viral pneumonia the following day. Thankfully, her oxygen levels improved enough that we could leave the hospital today. We just now walked in the door to our home!

Mommy has gotten little to no sleep since the day we came home from the hospital with Eva. Whether it was nursing a sick child or nursing a new baby, I have been up every night, nearly all night, since Eva came into this world on February 11th.

Daddy came to visit Eva and Mommy every afternoon and evening. It got really scary a few times and Daddy was very emotional about his little girl's fragile health status.

Praise Jesus for wonderful immune systems that can be "boosted" at times by modern medicine!

Praise Jesus for his protection over Eva and the other Metzger kids so far!

Please pray that Eva's pneumonia clears quickly (it is the same as when diagnosed at this point) and that we can stay out of the hospital and just follow up with our doctor on Monday, as planned.

Thank you, Lord, for a little fighter!

Thank you to all the medical personnel that took care of and are taking care of our special blessing!

Thank you to all who prayed and had the prayer requests sent around to one and all! Don't stop now!! ;)

Thank you to all who brought meals! They were and are so appreciated!

Praying for her! I have a 5 month old boy and when he was 6 weeks he caught a respiratory virus too (we have a house full of children as well), and had to be hospitalized for 3 days and went home on oxygen as well. So I know a little of what you guys are going through. Praise God He is the great Healer!!!
