Excellent and beautifully written article, Lisa. I agree with each of your points. I have raised my children on the abortion mission field since they were very young. They are not "warped" but very spiritually mature and sound teens who speak up about the issue of abortion to all they meet. I am so PROUD of them. Not once have they had nightmares or any other negative side effect of serving in this ministry. They are 14 and 16 and willingly go with us each week to our local abortion clinics. Thanks again!

My children are very active in the pro-life ministry. I dress them up to show how precious and beautiful and what a blessing children can be and I let them make their own signs. We've had some very interesting moments. The one thing that concerns me is that sooner or later they'll learn of my own abortion as a teen. I pray for the right words. They will be shocked when they find out. I struggle with the thought that they themselves will want to do all the same things I did and that they'll use my life example as an excuse to sin. I remember praying ( and have spoke to many others who have said they prayed the same thing) That they prayed for a sign on whether or not to get the abortion. I prayed that if one person showed up praying and spoke to me that I'd choose life. Now I wonder if my child would have looked anything like my children now.

In the meantime I keep right on praying, showing up, supporting life and supporting pro-life birth centers.

Very well communicated Lisa! A lot of times, adults' minds go far beyond what our children's ever would on topics...and I think, many times, it's because we were not give the Biblical perspective, knowledge, and Godly understanding FIRST.Thanks for sharing so clearly in this matter. I am praying for the abortion/pro-life ministry and how our church can move toward meeting the needs of the women who need the arms and feet and love of Jesus Christ! -Lori

These children only know what their parents have told them, and frankly they are too young to be involved in politics like the issue over abortion. Their parents should be ashamed that they are manipulating their children in order to promote their own views. These little girls holding signs may one day become pregnant and not be financially or emotionally ready to deal with a pregnancy or a newborn. Why can't they have the right to choose? Its their own body. No one would tell a her, "You must eat this, and you must cut your hair this way and you must wear these clothes!" So why does her control over her own body change when it comes to her reproductive decisions? Please respond, I'm curious to hear your opinions too.

Your answers are well thought out and are exactly to the point.

It is amazing how different the other members of OSA seem to be compared to Angela and Daniel Michael.

They have excoriated other pro-lifers for bringing their 13 year old daughter to an abortion mill and have even threatened to have the division of family services take his daughter away for child abuse for doing it.

They have held signs over the heads of other pro lifers that read, "End Child Labor" and / or "Should children this young be at an abortion mill?" and taken pictures and video of it.

All the while dragging her toddler and 13 year old to the abortion mill to do exactly the sem things.

Since she is supposed to be OSA's "Champion" pro lifer, one has to wonder why they would do such tings.

I agree with your post. I'm so glad that you and your children are participating in the sidewalk counseling ministry. Our children knew what abortion is at a young age. We all are totally pro-life. My 17 yo daughter has been doing Steps for Life (an annual fund-raising event for Pregnancy Resource Centers) since she was 5.

Well said! Me and my 10 children are very active in the pro-life movement. They, too, beg to hold signs. We are working to get Personhood passed in Colorado right now. They each have their own t-shirt that says, let the little ones come unto me, yes on 62. They know what it means and they love to wear them.

When you think about it there are so many things this concept applies to. If we shelter our children too much from things they don't grow up with the values we would want to instill in them. For some reason this article reminded me of the issue of childbirth. As parents it is easy to sugarcoat (or completely leave out) the truth in what we want to believe is their best interest. Sometimes it is just because of our insecurities or because it makes US uncomfortable. But when we do this our children will form their own opinions from their peers or TV or even their grandparents. Very well written article by the way, it answered a lot of questions I myself have had about these abortion mills and taking children.
