The Metzger Family

I am Lisa (Lively) Metzger, devoted helpmeet to Mark, keeper of our home, and 2nd generation homeschool mother to 10 children on earth and 7 in Heaven, resting at the feet of Jesus.

My TEN precious children on this earth so far are: Annalise (19- adopted from Kazakhstan at 10), Kaitlyn (12), Ethan (10), Trey and Jake (9 & 7 - adopted from MO 2007), Julia (6), Ellie (4), Judah Michael, (2 1/2), Eva Caroline (9 months) and Baby #10 due July 2012!

I am a 2nd generation homeschool mom, meaning that I was a pioneer homeschooled child! I am enjoying carrying on our family's rich heritage of raising children for Jesus, through homeschooling! Heritage Christian Academy is our homeschool and we live in a suburb of Charlotte, NC.

Mark and I allow God to fill our quiver and plan our family (Psalm 127 & 128), instead of us. We are working to conform to the image of Jesus. We meekly watch as the Child-giver fills our quiver with His most favored blessings ~ Children! We also believe in training up young men and women who earnestly contend for the faith, by training them in the Scripture alone and by teaching them how to vocalize what they believe and why. This is done through nightly family worship and Bible study, through weekly ministry at local abortion clinics and through helping women who choose life by meeting their needs. We strive to please Jesus in all we do!

“We will either spend our fertility for the glory of God, with our eyes on Eternity, trusting (and maybe even asking) God for the increase, or we will live with our hearts firmly fixed on these few fleeting moments of earthly life, bury our talent and concentrate on what is most comfortable for our flesh today."

"By confusing the issue [of birth control], the enemy has been allowed to take a holy and precious eternal decision and confuse potential parents into thinking that it is the equivalent of a materialistic decision. The decision to have [or not have] a child affects eternity."

"The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever. My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest."
~Isaiah 32:17, 18~

"My feet have closely followed His steps; I have kept to His way without turning aside. I have not departed from the commands of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my daily bread."
~Job 23:11-12~
